I disagree Stoobie. I think all 4 at times, have produced work equally as good.
But, as Rain Tree Crow showed, when those 4 got together, something magical happened.
Such a shame for ALL concerned, that they couldnt hold it together.

The kind person sent me the japanese cd version which includes the Jansen vocal `Move In Circles`.
I have both the Japanese and UK versions on Vinyl, but just wanted the cd artwork to print out, until i find an original copy of the Japanese CD :D

A couple of years ago, someone from this site kindly sent me the above on CD. Its a lovely album. To my eternal shame, ive forgot who sent it me at the time. So with some humility, could i ask if anyone has the cd artwork available to scan ???

Dunno if anyone has ever seen the JAPAN VH1 documentary from German tv. There is a clip, during the Brilliant Trees sessions with Sylvian showing Sakamoto what he wanted, and Sakamoto playing Blue Of Noon.

Also, if a compilation is so low in sales...why do they keep gettin released ??? On this info alone, it would seem the packaging and all round effort to release such things are minimal in cost.

Re-reading Micks book today, and mentions the photo session for the GTP album cover. Apparently the front cover is a cropped shop that Big Bad Sylv insisted on, cos he had a problem with Rob Dean being on it. Anyone ever seen the full uncropped image ???

Regards the Bamboo Music video .... i cant remember where i saw it, perhaps from your good self, but i once saw chart positions of JAPAN in the JAPANESE charts, and i always thought they were huge, but the chart positions were very poor, or certainly ...

Forget alcohol, cocaine, heroin, sex, or Jaffa cakes ....... FOPP is more addictive than any of those. I always go in there with the best intention of merely `browsing`, then come out £30.00 lighter saying " f**k it f**k it f**k it".

Was in FOPP today in Manchester, and the entire remastered JAPAN/Sylvian Back catalogue was for sale for £3.00 each.
These were the jewel case versions. The only ones i didnt see were Gone To Earth and Obscure Alternatives.

Im guessing finances. Up till GHOSTS, Japan had only marginal success. Virgin didnt want Ghosts released as a single. Sylvian put his foot down and insisted, so perhaps Virgin agreed to that, but not to finance a video.
Having said that, The TOTPs appearence was a worthy piece of film in its own ...

Thanx to people on here, i converted two tracks that Sylvian sampled from. Arvo Parts - Cantus-In Memory Of Benjamin Britten, which Sylvian used for Wasnt I Joe ?, and The Silver Gun by Shusha Guppy, which was used for Nostalgia. Both these originals are really beautiful pieces in their own right ...

Its true, there may not be a studio version....but it wouldnt take long to make one. Im sure all the samples etc...have been saved.
Getting out of Solo Sylvian territory....but was Under Ingrids Wheels ever recorded in a studio ???
